FOR MODELS
Do I need a professional portfolio to apply?
No. A professional portfolio is not required to apply to FAD MODELS.
You can apply using clear, well lit images taken on your smartphone. Please ensure your images are unedited, free from filters and clearly show your appearance. Poor quality or heavily edited images may prevent us from assessing your application.
Please include:
• One full length photograph
• One makeup free headshot
• One side profile
Can I apply in person?
Yes. We hold open walk in sessions every Friday between 1:00pm and 3:00pm at:

If attending a walk in session, please:
• Wear plain, fitted clothing
• Wear minimal or no makeup
• Bring your portfolio if you’re already represented or working professionally
Can I apply if I have no modelling experience?
Absolutely. Many of the models we represent had no previous modelling experience before joining the agency.
We provide free in house training and development to all successful applicants, helping you understand the industry, improve your confidence and prepare for professional castings and bookings.
Are there any fees to join FAD MODELS?
No. A reputable modelling agency should never charge representation fees, administration fees or website fees.
The only costs a model may choose to invest in are professional portfolio development and, where appropriate, additional training.
At FAD MODELS:
• Agency representation is completely free.
• In house training and development is provided free of charge.
• Professional portfolio shoots are arranged with trusted photographers, who are paid directly by the model. FAD MODELS does not receive commission from portfolio photography.
What are you looking for?
There is no single “model look”. We look for individuals with potential, professionalism, personality and a positive attitude. Every client brief is different, so authenticity is often more valuable than trying to fit a particular stereotype.
We also recommend keeping your social media profiles public, as many clients review them during the casting process.
How old do I need to be?
We currently accept applications from individuals aged 16 and above.
Applicants under 18 will require parental or guardian consent before representation.
Can I apply if I don’t live in Manchester?
Yes. Although our head office is based in Manchester, we represent models from across the UK and internationally.
Some meetings can also be conducted remotely where appropriate.
Can I apply if I have tattoos, piercings or coloured hair?
Yes. Many clients actively look for models with distinctive features.
Whether tattoos, piercings or alternative styling are suitable depends entirely on the client’s brief.
When will I hear back?
We aim to respond to successful applicants within 7 days.
If you haven’t heard from us after this time, unfortunately your application has not been successful. Due to the number of applications we receive, we’re unable to provide individual feedback. If you’re thinking of applying again, we recommend waiting at least six months before submitting another application.
What happens if my application is successful?
One of our agents will contact you to arrange either:
• A video consultation
or
• An in person meeting
Following this, successful applicants are invited to attend our induction workshop before beginning their development with the agency.
What happens after I sign?
Every model’s journey is different. Once represented, we’ll:
• Promote you to suitable clients
• Submit you for relevant castings and bookings
• Help build your portfolio
• Continue developing your skills
• Create long term opportunities with UK and international clients
You won’t be notified every time you’re submitted for a job, but we’ll always contact you if a client wishes to book you or check your availability.
Is modelling work guaranteed?
No. No reputable modelling agency can guarantee work.
Some models secure bookings very quickly, while others require more development before they begin working professionally.
Our commitment is to create as many opportunities as possible by promoting your profile, developing your portfolio and submitting you for suitable work. The final hiring decision is always made by the client.
Can I be signed to another modelling agency?
This depends on your agreement.
Some of our models are represented exclusively by FAD MODELS, while others may also be placed with partner agencies in the UK or internationally as part of their long term career development.
Your agent will explain your agreement before you sign.
How and when do models get paid?
Once a client has paid their invoice, model payments are processed through our monthly payment run.
You’ll receive a remittance advice showing exactly how your payment has been calculated, including any agreed commission or approved expenses.
What happens if I can’t submit my application?
If you’re experiencing technical issues, simply email the following to info@fadmodels.co.uk:

How do I book a model?
Booking with FAD MODELS is simple. Email bookings@fadmodels.co.uk or complete our online enquiry form. To help us recommend the most suitable talent, please include:

We’ll recommend suitable talent, confirm availability, negotiate fees, issue contracts and manage the booking from enquiry through to completion.
How quickly can I book a model?
We can often fulfil bookings within 24 hours, subject to model availability.
For larger productions, advertising campaigns or bookings requiring specific looks, we recommend contacting us as early as possible.
Can I book models outside Manchester?
Yes. Although we’re based in Manchester, our models regularly work throughout the UK and internationally.
Travel and accommodation can also be arranged where required.
Do you provide commercial, fashion and lifestyle models?
